Debra is the agency principal for The Carter Insurance Group. She opened the agency on June 1st, 2016. She has been in the insurance industry for over 35 years. She worked at Countybanc Insurance for ten years prior to purchasing the agency. Her main focus is personal lines insurance including home, auto, life, and health. Helping people with their insurance needs is what she enjoys the most. She tries to get her clients the best coverage for the best price to meet the needs of their family.

Brenda Snyder, CISR
Brenda Snyder began her insurance career in 1988. Brenda has been with the Carter Insurance Group since it's inception on June 1st, 2016. Prior to joining The Carter Insurance Group, she was with Countybanc Insurance for nine years. While working in the industry, Brenda has earned her AIS and CISR designations. Brenda specializes in meeting your personal lines insurance needs.

Bret Carter
Bret Carter is a Commercial and Health Insurance Specialist at The Carter Insurance Group, where he has been a key member of the team since March 2017. With a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and seven years of experience at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Bret brings a strong foundation in both commercial and individual health insurance. His mission is to help businesses and families not only save money, but also grow together through customized insurance strategies that fit their specific needs.

At The Carter Insurance Group, Bret manages a wide range of insurance portfolios, offering expert guidance on commercial coverage, ACA plans, Medicare options, and more. His commitment to building long-term relationships and delivering real value has earned him recognition across the state, including being named Young Agent of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of South Carolina and Best Insurance Agent in South Carolina by The State’s Best.

Outside of the office, Bret is deeply rooted in his community. He lives in Lexington with his wife Becky and their two children, Zoe and Eli, while always keeping the memory of their late daughter, Gracie, close to heart. He’s also a proud dog dad to Dylan. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find Bret on the golf course, enjoying time on Lake Murray, or volunteering through initiatives like Men Wear Pink, where he currently serves as co-chair. Clients appreciate his straightforward approach, deep knowledge of the industry, and dedication to protecting what matters most.

Lauren Parks
Lauren has been a licensed insurance agent for over 14 years and is a Lexington local. Prior to joining the Carter Insurance Group, she worked as an insurance agent for Allstate agencies, specializing in personal lines including auto, home and life insurance. Lauren received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, majoring in Marketing and Management. Lauren strives to create strong relationships with clients and understanding how to best assist with their insurance needs. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, blended family of three children, attending sports and church activities and traveling.

Mary Ann Edrington
Mary Ann joined The Carter Insurance Group in November of 2016 after working in the dental field for over 21 years. She and Debra have been friends since kindergarten. Mary Ann has been married to her husband, David, for over 35 years and has two daughters, Kelly and Kayla. Mary Ann is the public relations manager and is responsible for marketing the agency.
